The Toronto Marlboros proudly congratulate alumnus Jonathan Castagna on being named a 2026 Hobey Baker Memorial Award nominee, recognizing him among the top players in NCAA Division I men’s hockey.
The Toronto Marlboros are proud to recognize alumni Jonathan Castagna on his nomination for the 2026 Hobey Baker Memorial Award, presented annually to the top player in NCAA Division I men’s hockey.
Currently a junior forward with the Cornell Big Red, Castagna has emerged as one of the nation’s most complete players this season. He has recorded 17 points (9 goals, 8 assists) through 17 games, leading Cornell in goals while ranking second on the team in overall scoring. Five of his nine goals have come on special teams, including three shorthanded markers tying him for the national lead in short-handed goals at the time of his nomination.
Beyond his offensive production, Castagna has dominated in the faceoff circle, leading the country in faceoff win percentage among players with at least 200 wins at 65.9 percent. His all-around impact recently earned him ECAC Hockey Forward of the Week honours after a five-point weekend performance.
Castagna was officially named a nominee for the 2026 Hobey Baker Memorial Award on Jan. 21. The award recognizes not only elite performance on the ice but also character, leadership and sportsmanship.
The Marlboros congratulate Jonathan on this tremendous accomplishment. His continued success at the collegiate level reflects the dedication, work ethic and competitive spirit that define our program.
