Community Outreach – “Dinner with Dignity”

Community Outreach - Dinner with Dignity

This holiday season, the Toronto Marlboros Peewee (2007) team gave back again and again.

Gifts for teenager at SickKidsOn Sunday, December 15th, our players and their coach, Shane Bowler joined forces with Dinner with Dignity community meal program at Roncesvalles United Church.  Our players worked the kitchen, gathering plated home cooked meals and desserts to serve to all the dinner guests.  For ambiance, the team took to the stage to sing a couple fun holiday tunes and were even asked for an encore – and they obliged!  After the music, the team lined up to give out second helpings and take aways.  Once all the meals were done, the work continued for the team helping with clean up.

Also, this holiday season, our team was matched with a teenager at SickKids and his mother.  We know that our gifts of: groceries, dinner out, video games and basketball gear will be greatly appreciated by this family in their time of need.

We could not be more proud of these kids and how well they represented the Toronto Marlboros.

Team lined up to give out second helpings.
