2020 NHL Draft
Congratulations to three of our Marlboros players for being selected in the 2020 NHL Draft. Leading the way was Jamie Drysdale who was selected in the 1st Rd, 6th overall to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Many of the scouts had Drysdale touted as perhaps the best skating defenseman in this year’s draft, on par with Quinn Hughes another former Marlboro Grad. Drafted in the 2nd Rd., 60th overall by the New York Rangers was William Cuylle. He is a prototypical “power forward” with a strong stride, exceptional lower body strength and strong along the boards. Cuylle played his OHL hockey with the Windsor Spitfires and Drysdale with the Erie Otters
Drafted in the 3rd Rd., 84th overall by the New Jersey Devils was Nicholas Daws. Nicholas came to the Marlboros from the Burlington Eagles program before moving on to Guelph Storm where he had outstanding years, culminating with great performances for Team Canada at the World Juniors. Daws has the size that to-day’s NHL teams are looking for, and his determination and strong work effort are sure to bode well for his future.
