This holiday season the Peewee Marlboros participated the in the GTHL Challenge Cup tournament at Scotiabank Pond.
The Marlboros had a spark to their game from the beginning and saw them winning games by large margins including a heated affair with the Toronto Red Wings.
After a very strong 4-0 start, the Marlboros rolled through the Southern Tier Admirals 13-2 in the Quarter Finals. The Semi Final match up against a familiar Don Mills Flyers allowed the Marlboros an opportunity to execute a perfect game plan and rolled to a 5-1 win.
The finals had the Ottawa Valley Titans match up with the Marlboros, which are two teams that have never played each other. Although carrying most of the play during regular time, the Marlboros played to a regulation time 3-3 tie and allowed the fans in attendance a chance to view a spectacular triple OT 4-3 win. What a thrilling game and wonderful end to a fantastic tournament!
