Presented to a U18 player in recognition of outstanding loyalty and dedication to the Toronto Marlboros Hockey Club.
In 1983, Mr. James Nicoletti joined the Marlboros as the coach of the Midget team and never looked back. After an extensive Coaching career, Jim became the Marlboros General Manager which later lead to taking over the presidency during the 1992-93 season.
Through his tenure with the Marlboros, Jim regularly reminded the players, coaches, and families within the organization, that hockey is a stage in life and not their entire life. His club's mission was to "nurture the complete player and develop a well-rounded citizen," which meant focusing on family and school before sport.
Teaching and development were top priorities for Nicoletti, a retired educator. After graduating from the Univeristy of Toronto, Jim became a high school physical education teacher where he eventually sifted into a long career as a vice principle and principal.
With this award comes a $500 scholarship to any post secondary education.
