Major Atoms Capture Back to Back GTHL Championships 2014
The Toronto Titans put up a heroic battle in trying to stave off elimination in the Championship series against the Atom team at Herb Carnegie Arena.
As in most games played between these two teams, this one was also a nail-biter.Needing only a single point to clinch the coveted trophy the Blue & White drew first blood, only to see the game tied by the end of the 1st period.
The second period was scoreless as both teams pressed hard, only to have the goalies come up with big saves.
Early in the 3rd period the Marlboros were awarded a penalty shot to Sebastian Switzman who found the back of the net on a nifty deke.
Final outcome, Marlboros 2, Titans 1.
