The Toronto Marlboros are celebrating a remarkable achievement on the world stage, as four alumni returned home from the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina with medals in men’s hockey.

Jack Hughes and Quinn Hughes captured gold with Team USA following a dramatic 2–1 overtime victory over Canada in the championship game. Jack Hughes scored the golden goal 1:41 into overtime to secure the United States’ first Olympic men’s hockey gold medal since 1980 . Quinn Hughes played a pivotal role throughout the tournament, earning Best Defenseman honours and a place on the Olympic All-Star Team as the Americans completed their historic run .

On the other side, Connor McDavid and Sam Bennett earned silver medals with Team Canada after a hard-fought final. McDavid, who served as captain in the gold-medal game, was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after recording 13 points in six games, setting a new Olympic record during an NHL-participation Games . Bennett contributed throughout Canada’s campaign, including key minutes in the gold-medal matchup against the United States .
